At the edge of infinity, there's something, and it's good to the point of madness,to the point of serenity.
The actress within me was born in my childhood. My father was the first to recognize the talent—somewhere in the '70s, when it was acceptable to leave me home alone after elementary school. I would stand in front of the TV screen, singing and dancing, fantasizing that one day I'd be a movie star. Life had other plans for me, and a trauma I experienced at age 20 pushed me away from the world of acting. It made me afraid to touch the depths of pain, to stir deep emotions in my mind, to confront extreme situations. And so the dream and I circled around life's paths, knowing that one day it would happen. Six-thirty in the morning on the kayak, Ayelet Menahemi and I paddling in a pampering sea. "What else do you do?" I ask Ayelet. "I'm a director," she answers modestly. The child within me, the one who spent hours performing and enchanting everyone, answered her without hesitation: "Yesss! I want to be an actress, I really want to act in a film, wow, I really want to." Sweet Ayelet smiled at me and said, "Maybe one day." A year later, one day arrived. Five-thirty in the morning, we're getting ready for paddling, Ayelet approaches me: "Listen, a good friend is making a film and looking for an unconventional character, I'm giving her your number." I jumped with joy: "Wow, I'll be in a film!" Ayelet laughed at me: "You're crazy, it's just a phone call." But I already knew—the child in me wouldn't be disappointed again. "I'll be in the film," I danced in front of Ayelet. "I'll be in the film." 💃💃💃💃💃
I came to Cinema Sabaya through director Ayelet Menahemi, whom I met at sea. Ayelet connected me with Orit Fouks Rotem, the director of Cinema Sabaya, who was looking for an unconventional character. I passed the screen test and was cast.
Lee Gilat, the director of Hooligans, saw me in Cinema Sabaya, invited me to a screen test which I also passed, and I was cast. Since early childhood, an actress has been dormant within me, who emerged into the world's air thanks to the sea. From my father, I inherited eyes that know how to speak with a glance.
